The first considerations: Where to take the dog?

If the dog comes with you on vacation, the owner should first think about what you can expect of your four-legged friend .

This is entirely individual: there are dogs who don't like traveling by car , those who like to go on long, long hikes, and others who prefer to just splash around at the lake and doze in the shade.

In addition, each country has different legal regulations, such as the requirement to wear a muzzle, proof of vaccinations that must be provided, dog breeds that are considered dangerous, etc.

You should of course also find out in advance whether dogs are allowed in the accommodation and whether you have to pay an extra charge for them.

In many countries there are also diseases that are hardly found in Austria and Germany - so your four-legged friend could become infected if you are not careful.

Preparations before vacation with your four-legged friend

1. Security and first aid kit

   Since small wounds and accidents can often occur on hikes or from broken pieces lying around on the beach, ticks, etc., you should have a small first-aid kit on hand - in addition to medication that your dog may need on a daily basis .
